Brno AiR for FFA graduates, Open Call result (2024)
The evaluation committee consisting of Jan Langer (DumB), Šimon Kadlčák (DumB), Barbora Trnková (DumB) and Jan Zálešák (FFA) selected Denisa Ponomarevá, a 2024 FFA graduate, to stay at the Brno Artists in Residence Centre.
Brno House of Arts (hereafter DumB) in collaboration with the Faculty of Fine Arts BUT (hereafter FFA BUT) is announcing an open call for a residential stay at the Brno Artists in Residence Center (hereafter Brno AiR) in the House of the Lords of Kunštát (Dominikánská 9, Brno, Czech Rep.).
The Open Call is open to all graduates of master's and/or doctoral studies at FFA BUT. Residency period and duration: September 16 – November 16, 2024 (two months).
Brno AiR offers:
- monthly stipend of 20,000 CZK (gross), i.e., 40,000 CZK in total;
- studio in the residential area of the House of the Lords of Kunštát;
- accommodation in the House of the Lords of Kunštát;
- theoretical support;
- an exhibition at the G99 gallery produced by Brno AiR in 2025;
- technical facilities of DumB and FFA BUT.
Residency conditions:
- participation in the program organized by Brno Artists in Residence;
- final report.

- the deadline for application submission is from April 8 to June 7, 2024 (inclusive);

- note: a mandatory part of the application is a portfolio and a motivation letter explaining the interest in the residency and setting artistic goals (aiming at the final exhibition); the size of the attachment (portfolio in PDF format) is max. 15 MB (larger files, e.g., videos, animations, etc., must be available online with links in the portfolio), more detailed information in the online application.
Selection and announcement of results:
- the resident selection will be made based on the submitted applications by a commission composed of representatives from FFA BUT and Brno AiR;
- results will be published on the FFA BUT and DumB websites by the end of June 2024;
- the selected resident will be informed by email;
