Concert and workshop by Mark Fell & Okkyung Lee, 14 March 2024
On Thursday, March 14, 2024, there will be a workshop at FFA from 13:30 with Mark Fell and Okkyung Lee, followed by their concert in the Aula (FFA, Údolní 53, Brno) at 19:30.
Mark Fell, a British artist and music producer, is a leading figure in electronic music and its academic reflection. Fell's exploration of subcultures within the scene results in a series of straightforward and often humorously resolved installations, concert series, and curatorial projects, which are presented in galleries, museums, clubs, or concert halls (including ICA London, MoMA NYC, ZKM Karlsruhe, Pirelli Hangar Bicocca Milan, etc.).
Okkyung Lee, a South Korean composer and cellist, openly engages in a wide range of projects from classical music to noise. She has collaborated on many recordings, performances, or installations, among others, with Arca, Laurie Anderson, Douglas Gordon, Jenny Hval, Christian Marclay, Swans, or with John Zorn.
The performances of Mark Fell with Okkyung Lee are unique events in the connection of approaches to sound, live playing, and to improvisation. At FFA, they will have a workshop and music performance, which is accessible to the general public as well.
FFA students interested in the workshop can register by email: xvhovezakovak@vutbr.cz.
The concert is free of charge (for the FFA academic community), for the public the entrance fee is 200 CZK (reservations can be made by email: vitazkova@favu.vut.cz).
The program is organized by the Video Studio and the Department of Audiovisual Technology.
