The book Garden of Problems by Jakub Jansa, tutor of Performace Studio at FFA, published by UMPRUM Publishing House, will be launched in New York. Jakub Jansa's art project Club of Opportunities, which will be presented at a screening at Anthology Film Archive, is also connected with this book.
Monographic art book The Garden of Problems uncovers the themes addressed in the Club of Opportunities, an episodic project created by artist Jakub Jansa, starring hybrid human-vegetable creatures who question authority and cultural and class relationships. Through the texts of the invited authors (Michal Novotný, Julie Béna, Kamil Nábělek, Noemi Purkrábková, Jozef Mrva Jr., Ernestyna Orlowska, Klára Vlasáková, Jan Bělíček), we get to the bottom of multiple problems – with celeriac ontology, black magic, humour, losing vision of the future and especially with taking root. The book covers seven years of Jansa’ work and, in addition to the texts, contains three hundred pages of a large amount of pictorial material. Published by UMPRUM, Graphic design by Martin Groch.
