Position opening at FFA BUT: Assistant Prof. at the Department of Art History and Theory; app. deadline 18 June 2023

The Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Brno University of Technology is offering an academic position on a part-time basis (0.5 FTE) for an Assistant Professor at the Department of Art History and Theory, starting on September 1, 2023.

Job Description

  • Teaching courses in the field of contemporary art theory and curatorial theory in bachelor's and master's study programs accredited at FFA BUT.
  • Participation in consulting of dissertations.
  • Participation in the activities of the Department of Art History and Theory in the field of ensuring the conduct of state examinations, supervision of the documentation of theses, etc.
  • Participation in research activities of the faculty.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in the field of art or a related field of humanities.
  • Fluent in spoken English and Czech.
  • Publication and/or curatorial activity.
  • Teaching skills.
  • Moral integrity.

The application must include

  • Structured CV (with an overview of previous teaching, research and creative activities) with up-to-date contact details (name, address, phone number).
  • Scan of diploma(s) or other document confirming that an applicant received a higher-education degree (PhD. or an equivalent).
  • Drafts of 4 syllabi for semester courses – 3 in Czech and 1 in English.
