Position opening at FFA BUT: Post-mag/Post-doc Fellow for Artists, app. deadline 9 June 2024
The Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Brno University of Technology (FFA BUT) is pleased to announce the commencement of the selection procedure for the Post-mag/Post-doc positions at the FFA BUT – specifically tailored for artists. This initiative aims to facilitate the integration of recent graduates from art schools into professional life while fostering the advancement of creative (artistic, research, and innovative) endeavours within the faculty and involves creating short-term positions for postgraduate artists and postdoctoral researchers, which are filled through annual competitions.
The selection procedure for artists is open for a maximum of three part-time positions for either one or two semesters of the academic year (September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025, or September 1, 2024, to February 28, 2025). Eligible applicants include graduates of master's or doctoral programmes from art schools and faculties, who will undertake projects directly aligned with or enhancing the focus of their chosen studio, department, or division (please refer to the FFA Organigram).
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have graduated (at the time of employment) from master's or doctoral studies at an art school or faculty, within a maximum of 3 years from completion. This period excludes time spent on maternity and parental leave, illnesses exceeding 90 days, or caregiving responsibilities for individuals classified as dependents under the Social Services Act. Additionally, periods of extended study abroad are not counted towards this timeframe, with a maximum gap of 5 years between graduation and application submission in such cases.
Job Description
Successful candidates will participate in creative and scientific research activities at the faculty, collaborating closely with their chosen studio, department, or division to develop and implement their project. They will also contribute to the dissemination of project outcomes through teaching activities.
Application Requirements
- A concise and comprehensive description of the artistic or research project (up to 3 pages), including:
- Project title and description,
- Relevance to the focus of the chosen workspace,
- Project timeline,
- Description of spatial, material, and other project execution conditions, ensuring their provision,
- Expected project outcomes.
- Recommendation from at least one faculty member from the chosen workspace.
- Structured curriculum vitae, including a list of previous artistic or publication outputs and contact information (address, telephone, email).
- Copies of documents confirming academic and scientific degrees.
