Daniela Vicherat Mattar: Gendered Infrastructures, From Discrimination to Inclusion, 9 May 2022 12:00 (on-line)
Daniela Vicherat Mattar is an Associate Professor in Sociology at Leiden University. Her research focuses on cities, citizenship, and care. She’s interested in how dominant ideas about belonging translate in urban forms and infrastructures (like walls, public squares, markets, museums) and through urban aesthetics (graffiti and street art) in Europe and Latin America. In her presentation for the Feminist Seminar, Daniela will examine urban forms and infrastructures as proxies to read socio-political dynamics, considering the extent to which the cities we`re living in can be said to be gendered.
