Electronic Textile is a technique that uses metalized or carbon infused electrically conductivethreads and fabrics to create electronics that are made of textiles. KOBAKANT (Mika Satomi + Hannah Perner-Wilson) has been exploring this technique in their artistic practices for the last10+ years creating unique soft electronics such as knitted sensors and embroidered speakers. In this presentation, Mika will introduce their journey into this field, projects andexperimentations they have made, about their online database “How to get what you want?” andtheir project: KOBA. Mika will also talk about her recent exploration of stitching Artificial NeuralNetwork and playing with machine learning techniques.
Bio: Mika Satomi is a designer and an artist working in the field of e-Textiles, Interaction Design and Physical Computing.
