London-based artist Rebecca Salvadori, renowned for her multifaceted portraits of moments, people, and environments approached from various perspectives as they transition between personal and transpersonal scales, will lead the Visiting Artist’s Studio during the Summer Semester of 2025. She is also celebrated for her distinctive ability to capture environments with a focus on non-hierarchical and non-chronological layering and sequencing of audio with footage. Over the past 15 years, Salvadori has consistently explored experimental music, forging connections between moving images, sound practices, live performances, and alternative forms of storytelling.
Among her numerous projects, she is the creator of “Rave Trilogy” (2017–2020), a series of films dedicated to electronic music, shot across Sheffield, London, and Morocco’s Agafay Desert; “The Sun Has No Shadow” (2022), an intimate visual exploration of London’s FOLD club and the UNFOLD day rave format; and “Messengers” (2022–ongoing), commissioned by Martin Mazanec for the PAF Festival in 2022, which fosters a collective dimension through reflections on the nature of friendship and music.
