Statement on the situation at the Charles University
We are appalled by the situation and reports of the shooting on the campus of the Faculty of Arts at Charles University and the attack on innocent students and teachers. We immediately initiated a security check at BUT. On behalf of the entire university, we express our condolences to the families of the victims and our support to Charles University in these difficult times.
With profound sorrow, the Faculty of Fine Arts BUT joins the condolences of the Brno University of Technology in response to the tragedy that occurred at the Faculty of Arts at Charles University in Prague on December 21, 2023. With the deepest regret and respect, we remember the lives that were so abruptly ended, express our sympathy with the bereaved, and hold faith in the recovery of all those injured.
