Červenající se papír: fenomén erotického časopisu v pracích studentů Kurzu pornostudií FaVU VUT v Brně [Blushing Paper: The Phenomenon of Erotic Magazines in the Works of Students from the Porn Studies Course at FFA BUT]
This anthology focuses on the Porn Studies course, taught by Lenka Klodová at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Brno University of Technology since 2008. At the core of the publication is an experimental project conducted in the course between 2015 and 2018. This project resulted in a pornographic magazine composed of disparate double-page spreads, each created by students as their final course assignment. The experiment captures the visual perspectives of young aspiring artists on the fading format of printed pornographic magazines. The anthology begins with an academic study examining the phenomenon of teaching pornography as a subject at the university level. In this text, Lenka Klodová explores the origins, possibilities, and methods of teaching Porn Studies. As an interdisciplinary academic field, Porn Studies emerged in the West during the 1990s in response to societal changes and shifting perceptions of pornographic media, which began transforming as early as the 1960s. The text and the publication aim to investigate the traditions and approaches that Porn Studies encounter in the Czech context and consider the potential conditions for their further development locally.
