PAMĚŤ FAVU – SONDA JEDNOHO ROČNÍKU [FFA MEMORY – A PROBE INTO ONE YEAR]
The sociological study analyses the career trajectories of graduates from a specific cohort of FFA BUT who enrolled in the academic year 1999/2000, focusing on their subsequent artistic endeavours. The research is the outcome of collaboration between faculty members and doctoral students from the Faculty of Fine Arts and the Faculty of Architecture. While initially established as the Czech Technical University in Brno, the institution has always incorporated the teaching of art disciplines alongside technical education. This inclusion expanded notably after the establishment of the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering in 1919, which also welcomed sculptors and painters into its teaching staff. Moreover, many of the architects among the faculty members were actively involved in projects related to Brno's technological buildings. A significant development in this regard occurred with the accreditation of the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1993, the third “academy” of fine arts in the country, alongside those in Prague.
