For the Refrain publication, Jan Zálešák adopts a structured approach, comprising three interconnected sections: first, a catalogue segment featuring visual documentation and accompanying texts from realized exhibitions; second, an extensive discourse by art theorist Hana Drštičková, summarizing her research on the exhibition Against Nature and its enduring influence, pivotal to the conceptual integrity of Zálešák's year-long cycle; and finally, a reflective essay penned by Jan Zálešák himself. In this essay, Zálešák not only recounts his curatorial experiences at the Kurzor Gallery but also unveils significant thematic intersections and lateral connections among them. Furthermore, Zálešák's narrative seeks to bring closure to the relationship with the aforementioned exhibition Against Nature, elucidating its conceptual underpinnings and contemporary parallels within artistic practice. The Refrain publication emerged in conjunction with Jan Zálešák's curatorship at the Kurzor Gallery in 2022.
