FFA graduate Adéla Svobodová becomes Czech graphic designer of the year 2021
Adéla Svobodová, an artist and graphic designer, won the main prize in the Graphic Designer of the Year category at the Czech Grand Design competition for her graphic solutions for the books 'Exhibition as a Medium – Czech Art 1957–1999' (published by AVU), 'Street Theatre' (published by UMPRUM), and the catalogue 'Fashion in Blue' for the exhibition about the tradition of Czech and Japanese textile, indigo-dyed clothing, and the future of blueprinting. In the last-mentioned book, Adéla Svobodová collaborated with Tereza Hejmová, who works at the Graphic Design Studio 2 at FFA. A graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts BUT and subsequently AVU in Prague, she is known for her ability to process complex topics and a large amount of information visually in a way that engages the reader in the publication. Among her earlier works, for example, the book 'Atlas of Transformation' succeeded, for which she received the award The Most Beautiful Swiss Books 2010.The work of all the winners of this year's design competition can be seen until April 10, 2022, at the BEST OF: 2021 exhibition at the Česká spořitelna Gallery in Prague.
