Original Abstract

Až na fakt, že v českých zemích bylo v roce 1900 pravděpodobně poprvé publikováno dílo Franka Lloyd Wrighta na evropském kontinentu, mnoho kontaktů tohoto amerického architekta s českými zeměmi neproběhlo. Asi nejzásadnější vazbu na Wrightův okruh vytvořil pozapomenutý architekt, konstruktér a vynálezce Jaroslav Josef Polívka (1886–1960), který v roce 1939 emigroval do Spojených států.

English abstract

Apart from the fact that the work of Frank Lloyd Wright was probably first published on the European continent in the Czech lands in 1900, many contacts of this American architect with the Czech lands did not take place. Probably the most fundamental connection to Wright's circle was created by the forgotten architect, designer and inventor Jaroslav Josef Polívka (1886–1960), who emigrated to the United States in 1939.
