Original Abstract

Přednáška, stejně jako výstava, mapuje Kotěrovu architektonickou praxi, architektovo pedagogické působení na Uměleckoprůmyslové škole a na Akademii výtvarných umění v Praze. Ladislav Zikmund-Lender připomene rovněž Kotěrovy ambice stvořit nový syntetický styl pro vzniklý Československý stát po roce 1918, jakkoliv tyto ambice ve většině nebyly naplněny.

English abstract

The lecture, as well as the exhibition, maps Kotěr's architectural practice, the architect's pedagogical work at the School of Applied Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Ladislav Zikmund-Lender will also mention Kotěr's ambitions to create a new synthetic style for the emerging Czechoslovak state after 1918, even though these ambitions were mostly not fulfilled.
