Studio I - Game Media - winter

The course introduces students to the reality of digital games media, potential, presentations, obstacles and limits. Opens work with sophisticated software. Identification of basic design elements, mechanics and established digital game structures. The priority of the subject is the motivation of students to select and subsequently create a long-term creative project, which can be realized in the team as well. The selected project subsequently enters the bachelor's degree at various levels, within multiple semesters. It also reflects the continuous alignment of information across partial tasks. Anchoring appropriate shape and project settings helps students prevent potential collisions within the project team or individual engineering or conceptual details.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Achieved knowledge provides students with a direct insight into the current social, commercial and experimental use of digital games media. Acquiring adjacent terminology and mastering the identification of key elements used primarily in digital game design. In the studio environment, students plan and design a long-term project, paralleling partial tasks and exercises.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Students are led to realize individual or collective exercises and tasks. They continuously improve their technical and theoretical knowledge in the field. They are actively discussing and presenting their work results in the atelier field. In complementary activities, he participates in thematic exhibitions, excursions, festivals and lectures.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

To award the credit, it is necessary to submit partial studio assignments and collective or individual semester work. Subsequently, before the committee, he / she defends the results of the semester examination.
