Blender

In this course students will be introduced to a freely available and versatile digital creation tool (Blender). Students will become familiar with the tool's environment and through hands-on exercises will learn techniques for modeling, animation, rigging, simulation, lighting and rendering.

Students will gain a general overview of Blender's capabilities and features.

Prerequisites

Basic PC skills, patience and curiosity.

Lectures accompanied by instruction, work on independent projects leading to the acquisition of specific skills.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Credit awarded on the basis of attendance (compulsory attendance) and completion of assignments.

1) Familiarize yourself with the Blender user environment.
2) Hard surface modelling technique.
3) Digital sculpting technique.
4) Working with the animation editor.
5) Rigging and skinning.
6) Basics of simulation.
7) Lighting technique.
8) Materials and their rendering.

The aim of the course is to explain the principles of Blender and to give learners the tools to create digital content independently.
