Studio II - Drawing and Printmaking - winter

The course builds on the initial experience with the drawing and graphics. Students use and develop acquired experience leading towards discovering new possibilities and media. Students are neither dogmatic nor conservative. Emphasis is placed on experimental author's research leading to own discoveries. The core of the course consists of regular atelier consultations, intensive workshops, visiting domestic and foreign art exhibitions, plenaries and regular critical presentations of students work to external experts. At this stage, students are encouraged to work on regular basis, continually communicate and consult their work requiring strong work and creative engagement on their part.

-presence and participation in all mandatory regular consultations of semester projects (once a week)
-active participation in regular atelier projects and their consequent presentation (twice per semester)
-ability to reflect/accept recommendations resulting from consultations of semester projects
-fulfilling given tasks
-participation in atelier workshops and collaborative projects
-mandatory participation in the plenary
-evident interest in contemporary art
Two unexcused absence are allowed per semester.
Atelier exam is evaluated by a commission.
Course curriculum
Schedule:
1. Definition of the topic of artistic research or the author's project (alteration in the form of a possible atelier assignment).
2. Brainstorming, artistic research, experimentation, verification, variation.
3. Presentation and defense of studio criticism.
4. Participation in all joint events - namely plain-air workshop, studio workshops, excursions and events according to the program of the entire studio.
5. Installation, presentation and defense of semestral work.
6. Participation in a public presentation on an open day.

A two absences at studio consultations are allowed.
