Basic orientation in art history. Sufficient linguistic competence to work with sources in English.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

In addition to attendance, a condition for the award of credit is the presentation of a paper (15-20 minutes) with visual documentation (projection) and the submission of a seminar paper in digital form.
Overall, a minimum of 50% attendance is expected (or, in the case of online teaching forced by the epidemiological situation, attendance by distance learning); any justified lower attendance can be compensated in the appropriate proportion by the processing of additional seminar work submitted during the credit period.

Aims

The main objective of the course is to introduce key action artists and their significant works of art. The course content is organized as an exploration of the media of action art, structured under given thematic headings.
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to: identify and summarize important features of individual works and collective action art movements; identify and describe current domestic and international artistic trends in action art; compare and highlight differences in the approaches of individual artists; apply basic terminology of the field to specific artworks; characterize current trends in action art; describe the means used to realize a specific action artwork.
