Studio IV - Intermedia - summer

The subject focuses on the students' individual bachelor's project in the context and medium of their choice. The student has the task of looking at his/her artistic work to date within the framework of art history and tries to name the chosen strategies and procedures in the context of the theory of mixed art. They work with the reduction of the portfolio in relation to the bachelor's project, which is consulted during individual meetings with the studio teachers and externs. They learn to communicate about their work with theorists, critics, curators, but also technologists and cultural managers.

Students follow up on the bachelor's work in progress from the winter semester, which they finalize during the summer semester. They are ready to consult the process in the studio, with work supervisors and external experts.
Rules for evaluation and completion of the course
To be awarded credit, it is necessary to work on your own semester project, which is continuously consulted (individually and in groups) during the semester. The development of the work is documented using work-in-progress, sketches or research. Mandatory number of ongoing consultations: 4. 80% participation in studio meetings is mandatory. Credit for submitting a bachelor's thesis.

Aims
Independent work on a bachelor's project in a studio environment. Critical reflection of one's own work and the ability to verbalize one's own concepts. Orientation in current topics in the context of contemporary art and non-art fields.
In the summer semester of the final year of the bachelor's degree, students continue to develop the themes of their own artistic work, which they finalize in the form of an author's exhibition/installation/performance or other professional presentation of the project. They acquire the ability to theoretically reflect on their own work in written and verbal expression. They reduce the art portfolio ready for possible future presentation.
