BA in Design Seminar 1

The seminar is conceived as a summary of the theoretical part of Bachelor Final Exams through student presentations, reading and interpretation of key texts and lecture blocks. Rules for evaluation and completion of the course
For passing the course there are the following conditions:
- Active presence (80% attendance)
- participation in the preparation and delivery of the presentation.
Teaching takes place in the classrooms of the FFA BUT in the hours determined by the schedule. Attendance is compulsory (2 unexcused absences allowed).
Aims
After completing the course, the student is capable of basic orientation in the history and theory of design and the recognition and interpretation of relevant visual forms as well as the social and production context. At the same time, he is familiar with basic terms and categories from the field of design history and theory and related disciplines.
Completion of the course should help students strengthen the ability of analytical thinking, conduct interdisciplinary dialogue and articulate a critical view of the canon of design history and theory and its practice in the present.
