Course detail
3D Modeling for Digital Games
FaVU-3DMDGAcad. year: 2024/2025
The course focuses on selected elements of advanced 3D modelling in the context of digital games. Part of the course is a basic introduction to the making and optimization of textures, application of materials and retopology (high poly vs. low poly) of 3D models. Students will learn to work with software 3D Studio Max, Z-Brush, TopoGun, Substance painter, and Adobe Photoshop.

Aims
The aim of the course is a practical and further applicable knowledge of software tools used in the development pipeline of 3D graphics in contemporary digital games.
Students will learn the basic pipeline in the processing of 3D models, including optimization (3D Studio Max, Z-Brush, TopoGun, Substance painter, Adobe Photoshop). They learn to work with selected software and are familiar with their possibilities and limits (organic vs hard surface modeling, texture processing using modern methods).
