Results of the Internal Competition – Support for Artistic Activities of Bachelor's and Master's Students (2024)
In 2024, the competition to support the artistic and creative activities of undergraduate and master's students of Czech study programmes at FFA BUT received 141 project applications, with a requested subsidy totaling over 2.3 million CZK. The committee, consisting of Barbora Šedivá, Markéta Žáčková, Lenka Klodová, Vojtěch Vaněk, and Filip Cenek, supported 130 projects after mutual discussion and a detailed examination of the applications, awarding a total of up to 1.1 million CZK. Reasons for withholding support included the failure to meet structured budget requirements, unclear project outputs, late submissions, and projects that should be funded from the operational budgets of the studios. Budgets were reduced to support as many projects as possible, taking into account their quality and the operational budgets of the applicants' home studios, after consulting with studio practice tutors. Preference was given to bachelor's projects and those aimed at exhibitions outside of school presentations. Given the record number of applications, the committee decided, in accordance with the competition rules, not to support applications from students who exceed the standard duration of study. The final amount of support was determined by averaging the amounts proposed by the committee members. Applicants will be informed about the method of disbursement in a separate email. An opportunity for feedback on the results will be available on April 8, 2024, from 15:00 to 15:30, at U2/324.
