Course detail
Studio III - Game Media - winter
FaVU-B3MU-ZAcad. year: 2021/2022
The course opens the thematic unit of architecture and building virtual worlds in any spatial dimension (2D, 3D). Students focus on the creation of virtual environments of any nature. The starting point is the analysis of an open (map) and closed (corridor) virtual space, including the interior. A key theme here is the relationship of game mechanics, mechanisms and dynamics in the context of the scale of the virtual space, the model. There is also an ongoing excursion into the history of video game architecture, and thus virtual urbanism. The study of architecture not only takes place in the context of the chosen video game genres and platforms, but also focuses on historical and contemporary architectural practices and realisations in physical space.
